Stamped patterns, color and exposed aggregate that give concrete the look of stone, slate, brick or wood.
Concrete
Decorative concrete gives you the look of natural stone, slate, brick or even wood planks, poured as one slab. Patterns are pressed into the fresh concrete with stamping mats, and color comes from the mix, a color hardener on the surface and an antiquing release that highlights the texture.
Stamped concrete is used for patios, pool decks, walkways, driveway borders and entryways. It still needs control joints like any concrete, and it should be sealed after it cures and resealed every few years to protect the color. A non-slip additive in the sealer adds grip where the surface gets wet.
How it works
Driveway, patio, slab or repair: tell us the rough size, the finish you have in mind and your address. Photos of the area help.
The area is measured and checked for slope, drainage, access for the concrete truck and any old concrete that has to come out.
You get a quote that spells out the size, thickness, base, reinforcement, finish and removal of old concrete, so you know what's included.
The ground is excavated, the base compacted and the forms set, then the concrete is poured, finished and jointed. You'll know how long to wait before walking or driving on it.

FAQ
Sealed stamped concrete can be slippery when wet, especially with smooth patterns. A textured pattern and a non-slip grit mixed into the sealer make a big difference around pools and on steps.
Every two to three years is typical, more often in high-traffic areas or harsh winters. Resealing protects the color from sun fading and keeps water and salts out of the surface.
It can, like any concrete. Control joints are placed within the pattern so cracks follow those lines, and a solid base and proper thickness keep cracking to a minimum. Hairline cracks are usually only cosmetic.
